Spring Sparklers

Spring is all about optimism, about promise. It’s about leaving winter’s grey days behind and embracing colour once again. Surely that alone is cause for celebration? It seems only fitting, then, to raise a glass to spring and to allow our obsession with all things technicolour to make its way on to the cocktail menu. Inspired by our love of blossom at Jo Malone London, here are some simple yet sensational sips to put spring in your step.

Cherry Blossom Spritzer
Ingredients:
30ml cherry blossom syrup
30ml lemon juice
Sparkling rose water

Directions:
Combine the cherry blossom syrup and lemon juice in a tall glass. Top with sparkling rose water and stir.

Orange Blossom Sparkler
Ingredients:
15ml Amoretti orange blossom syrup
30ml lemon juice
Sparkling orange juice, to taste

Directions:
Combine the orange blossom syrup and lemon juice in a glass over ice. Top with sparkling orange juice and garnish with a slice of orange.

Raise a glass to spring with these
simple yet sensational sips

The Frangipani
Ingredients:
60ml dark rum
30ml frangipani syrup*
15ml lemon juice
Lemonade

*To make the frangipani syrup, heat 1 cup of water and 3 tbsps of honey in a saucepan for 2-3 minutes until the honey becomes a syrup. Add 8 frangipani flowers to the mixture, bring it to the boil, then leave to simmer for 3 minutes. Switch off the heat and let the frangipani scent infuse the syrup for 10 minutes. Drain, cool, chill and store in a clear jar.

Directions:
Combine all ingredients apart from the lemonade in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a large coupe glass and top with lemonade.
