Alicia Lund

I am currently sitting in my office having a dance party while listening to my latest playlist. Why?

Because it’s Friday and I have a staycation planned this weekend!  It’s such a treat to get away

with my husband for the night (but just down the street)... in downtown Sacramento. Sacramento has

really grown on me over the past couple of years since moving here from New York. It has the perks

of a city but with that small town charm and down-to-earth Northern California community that I love.

Fragrance Combining™: I’m wearing

Red Roses Cologne and Wild Bluebell Cologne.

Rose is my all-time favorite scent but I’m

loving this fresh and flirty combination with

Wild Bluebell Cologne for spring. My complete

routine consists of: Red Roses Bath Oil in the

shower. Wood Sage & Sea Salt Body Crème,

layered with the Red Roses Cologne and

Wild Bluebell Cologne. I also have Red Roses

Diffusers around our house and the candles

burning constantly. (A spritz of Red Roses

Room Spray is my number one party trick.)

Red Roses Cologne worn with Wild Bluebell Cologne
is so fresh and flirty - my ‘go-to’ combination for Spring.

My top five tips for things to do in Sacramento:

1. Midtown Farmers Market

On Saturday morning I like to pick up an almond milk latte at The Mill beforehand and walk over for fresh produce, eggs, and of course, flowers.

2. Canon

Bring a group of friends to share plates at Canon, our newest hot spot in East Sacramento (my neighborhood) that has become my go-to. Order the yellowtail crudo and ribs to start.

3. Trails

Pack running shoes. We have some great trails along the river, or drive a little way out to Auburn for more hiking. My favorite way to spend Sunday afternoons as a family is a picnic or walk along the American River Trail. Now that my 15 month old son is on the move it’s more of an afternoon spent chasing him down the trails rather than a relaxing picnic.

4. Oak Park

Oak Park is one of my favorite neighborhoods to walk around. I like to grab tacos at La Venadita, pop into a few boutiques, coffee at Old Soul, and pick up a new plant (to try to keep alive) from The Plant Foundry.

5. Kechmara Designs

My friend Ali sources the best selection (incredible colors) of Moroccan rugs from his travels and we’re lucky to have his shop, Kechmara Designs, here in Sacramento. While in the WAL Artist Lofts on R Street, grab a cup of coffee at the adorable new Camellia Coffee and browse the vintage selection.
